Left:  This operating steamer was built by the firm of Barrangers as a window display for a jewelry store. Barrangers built hundreds of window displays which jewelry stores rented for a month or two.  Two Barrangers displays are fire related.  The other, which depicts an operating manual engine at a fire, is also on display in Galery One.  Visitors like to operate the models, which are driven by small electric motors.

Left:  This wooden statue of St. Florian was probably used in a Roman Catholic Church in central Europe.  St. Florian, the patron saint of firefighters, is a popular saint in Poland, Germany, Bohemia, and Austria.
Left: In 1888 this presentation frontispiece was presented to the Veteran Firemen's Association of New London, Connecticut by the Volunteer Firemen's Association of New York City.
