| The Museum operates a 2,000 square
foot exhibit area in Gallery IV that is dedicated to the principles of safety in
the home, with emphasis upon fire safety. The exhibit was designed with
the Assistance of the Phoenix Fire Department and is based on that department's
award winning Urban Survival Program, which lays out education elements and
goals in a wide variety of home safety subjects, from pool and firearms safety
to basic fire safety behaviors. |
The Safety Exhibit includes a
mini-theater able to seat 50 children, a large screen TV, a two room Safety
House, a fire safety application area, and a play area where children can sit in
a toy chief's buggy, climb a fire pole, dress up like firefighters, create arm
patches, work a jigsaw puzzle, or examine a fire safety doll house for safety
infractions.
