Badges and Ribbons
The Museum owns several thousand badges and ribbons, about 200 of which are on display. The badges have been donated by firefighters mostly from the United States, but we have hundreds of cap badges from fire departments in Europe as well as the United States. The ribbons are related to conventions, musters, fire service anniversaries, and the like. We do not have any ribbons or badges awarded for acts of heroism. The English cap badge exhibit pictured below is on formal exhibit. Compiled by an English collector, it displays cap badges used in the English Fire Service in the years 1930-1960.
Over 200 cap badges from Great Britain are on display in this exhibit. Below are three photos of some of the badges.
