The Museum has an extensive collection of photographs of fire apparatus from
all over the world. We will be using this group of web pages as a kind of
changing exhibit of a selection of the photos in the collection. Many of
these photos were taken by Hall of Flame volunteer Jim Pearson. Jim is a
former volunteer fire department chief from Connecticut who moved to the Phoenix
area a few years ago. One of his hobbies is fire apparatus
photography. These photos were taken by Jim over the past couple of
years. In addition to the great photographs, Jim also is careful to
describe the rigs which he is recording. We do not own any of the rigs
displayed in this section, although we sure wish that we did!

1970 American La France tractor drawn aerial truck. 100 foot aerial ladder
Ladder 4, Mesa, Arizona FD
The cab of this rig is that of a more modern century series as
a repair after the rig was involved in an accident. The truck was retired
by Mesa and sold to the Gila Bend Indian Community FD. They sent it to
Ferrara for a rebuild and it has come back with a new trailer, cab and
chassis. It is still awaiting a certification test and may never see use
in the fire service.
